|
 |
On Tuesday, December
15th, 2009 the delegation led by the
Carin-thian Counse-llor for Health Peter
Kaiser came to Ljubljana. The delegation
visited the Clinical Centre Ljubljana
where it was accepted by the Slovenia's
Health Minister Borut Miklavčič.
The theme of the discu-ssion between
the politicians was - among other things
- the project between Carinthia and
Slovenia with reference to the European
Medical Directive, which foresees the
right of medical treatment of citizens
of EU member countries in the whole
European Unity. In the frame of this
pilot project the possibilities of the
evaluation of the actual implementation
of this Directive would be given. Furthermore
they discussed the utilisation of synergies
among hospitals on both sides of the
border. Another theme was also the Sanacademia
with its seat in Villach, where to Friuli-Venezia
Giulia has joined, too. From the Slovenian
side the hospital Jesenice will participate
in this international Academy. Two of
the central tasks of its activity are
the progression of medical standards
in the Alps-Adriatic region and closer
mutual cooperation.
The hospitals in Wolfsberg and in Slovenj
Gradec intend to cooperate closely on
the field of lymphology.
In spring 2010 the Minister Miklavčič
will come to Carinthia and visit the
Provincial Hospital in Klagenfurt. The
meeting in Ljubljana was organised and
coordinated by the Alps-Adriatic Centre
in Klagenfurt.

Communities Bled (Slo) and Velden am Woerthersee
(A) celebrated five years of their partnership
The delegates from Velden led
by the Mayor Ferdinand Vouk met recently with
the partners from Bled at the premises of the
Bled community at the occasion of the fifth
anniversary of their partnership. The two communities
are connected with quite some common curiosities
such as: lake, castle, casino and tourism.
It is self understandable that also the residents
of the two communities met. Five years ago both
communities- the Mayor Ferdinand Vouk and the
former Bled mayor Jože Antonič – signed the
partnership cooperation contract – with the
assistance of the Alps-Adriatic Centre for Cross-border
Co-operation. After five years the Mayor Janez
Fajfer, his deputy and the former Mayor Jože
Antonič inscribed themselves in the honorary
book of the community. They stressed that this
partnership is a matter coming from the hearts.
The festivity was culturally enriched by the
flute players of Musical School Velden, led
by Mrs. Gruber-Lechner. |
